We booked a home last year, but because of Covid, the trip was cancelled. Although we cancelled well within the time limits, we did not receive our money back!
But we really need a silver lining, so in November of 2020 we booked another home with VRBO. We really were looking forward to our vacation. However, we got an e-mail on February the 28th from the owner of the home that he cancelled our booking without a reason! So we have send him an email asking why the booking was cancelled. Never heared back from him. So then we called VRBO. We got Joy on the phone and she did not had her day so to say. We explained what happened and the only thing she could answer was: what do you expect of me? Well......WE WANT TO KNOW WHY THE RESERVATION IS CANCELLED!
She did not know, and so the saga continued. After a while we said that we know why the reservation is cancelled: we looked up the home in the same period as we had booked it and what do you know? When we made the reservation, we paid USD 288,- per night and now they are asking USD 450,- per night!! So, there you have it! And then Joy asked us: what do you expect from us? Arrrgh! She promised us to ask the owner why he cancelled our booking and we would get an email. Never got it and nobody is home anymore! Never again will we book through VRBO.
